One of those is Myron Tabora, who lives in
Lichfield, Staffordshire, and says he was one of
50,000 Ukrainians who fought for the Nazis but
claims he never fired a rifle.
The 90-year-old said: “I went to the Austrian front

Ostap Kykawec, 92, who was a lieutenant for the

Both officers were in the Galizien, which was a
wing of the Waffen-SS initially made up of
volunteers from Ukraine but also took on Dutch,
Slovakian and Czech officers.
The Waffen-SS was believed to have committed
several atrocities throughout Europe during World
War Two, including murder, rape and genocide.
The unit has been denounced as a criminal
organisation post-World War Two due to its
association to the Nazi party.
The UK allowed 8,000 ex-Waffen-SS serviceman to
come to Britain after the war was over. It is
believed 25 are still alive.
Scotland Yard looked into the Galizien unit in 2006
but has now closed its investigation.
One of those in the unit, Jaroslaw Wenger, told the
Sun he rounded up enemies of the Germans.
