Tragedy as soldier dies on military training exercise in Brecon Beacons

A SOLDIER in the Rifles regiment died on Tuesday
while on a training exercise in the Brecon area of
Wales, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
Josh Hoole, senior NCO, collapsed while on the
Brecon Beacons yesterday.
He was on a regular Army promotion course to
become a platoon sergeant.

The outdoor exercise on some of the hardest
terrain in the country began at dawn on the hottest
day of the year so far.
The cause of death is not yet known.
But the tragedy comes a day after the Army said
new guidelines were in place to prevent such
deaths, as temperatures soared in the Welsh
mountain range.
