ISIS have claimed responsibility for the Nice truck
terror attack but the language used suggests they
had not planned it with him.
The terrorist group claimed that one of their
“soldiers” carried out the deadly attack, but they
added that he was responding to “calls” to attack
targets.
The statement implies that he may have acted
alone and there is no evidence that he planned the
attacks with them.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the 84 deaths via
Amaq News Agency, which supports ISIS.
They claim that Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej-
Bouhlel carried out the attacks in response to its
call to target citizens of states involved in the
coalition.

In a statement published via Amaq News Agency’s
Telegram account they said: “The person who
carried out the operation in Nice, France, to run
down people was one of the soldiers of Islamic
State.
“He carried out the operation in response to calls
to target nationals of states that are part of the
coalition fighting Islamic State.”
French authorities have claimed that they were not
aware of Lahouaiej-Bouhlel for terrorist links.
