Ojo Madekwe died at 71
They both started and worked for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through thick and thin and they enjoyed being in government for 16years
The party lost presidential election in 2015 and they both started working to resolve the leadership tussle that befell it after then.
Being of the same age, 71, they both shared good times and looked forward to retaking power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
But Ojo Maduekwe, Nigeria’s former minister and ambassador, died leaving Bode George and their dream behind.
George, a former national vice-chairman of the party, said he is still in shock over the death of Maduekwe.
“I am still in a state of shock. Ojo and I are of the same age and we have worked together severally.
“But having said that, you know God is the ultimate; man can propose, but God disposes.
“We have lost a gem, a politician, a committed democrat and a man of all seasons. I feel for his family and I pray that God will grant him eternal rest and give him merciful judgment.
“I know the role Maduekwe played since this unnecessary turbulence in the party. We will miss him greatly, especially his experience and strategic thinking,” George said praying that God should grant the family and the PDP the fortitude to bear the loss.
